Input for the SWR» (South Western Railway - about) timetable consultation just submitted, proposing joined up services along the Southampton Airport – Salisbury – Swindon corridor which they're tasked with looking at anyway.

A joined up service would give:
* Through trains Southampton Airport to Chippenham and Swindon
* Increased peak and near-peak train services from Swindon to Westbury
* Through trains Swindon and Chippenham to Warminster and Salisbury
* Much improved services at Melksham, Warminster and Dilton Marsh
All done within currently planned rolling stock levels!

May I encourage members to take a look at our overview:
     http://twcrp.info/presentation_2019
Or the whole much more technical work:

And if they feel so inclined to write in, in support

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on your 2019 Monday to Friday timetable proposals for South Western Railway.

Please see links below to  our(*) response, with particular references to tables 158A (Romsey via Southmapton to Salisbury) and 160 (reference services between Salisbury and Westbury)

- On table 160, we welcome Dilton Marsh calls, and encourage you to run the suggested additional Bristol to Waterloo via Salisbury service on Sunday, fed from a Salisbury to Bristol service at around 09:25 from Salisbury.

- On table 158A, we suggest that you extend alternate services arriving in Salisbury to Swindon, running the next Salisbury - Romsey - Salisbury trip with the train that made the previous round trip to Swindon.  The train that currently runs the daytime Westbury to Swindon shuttle diagram fills in for missing train at Salisbury, leaving your proposed timetable in tact for routing and further adjuetment from other consultation inputs.   Additional services that run between Westbury and Swindon using alternative (GWR (Great Western Railway)) stock stay in place - though GWR timetable changes resulting from electrification mean a wholescale re-tietabling there.  Local GWR service running just between Westbury and Warminster become largely redundant.

The technical case (15 pages) is made in detail at:
   http://twcrp.info/technical_2019
We have also put together a short presentation - we estimate it will take about quarter of an hour to go through with interested parties - to explain the proposals at an intermediate level. We are happy to present to any appropriate groups; the slide set is at:
   http://twcrp.info/presentation_2019
You are also welcome to share the links and / or the documents which I will send under separate cover if you prefer them that way.

(*) - This suggestion has been prepared by the TransWilts Community Rail Partnership working closely in association with the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership.   Both partnerships have consulted within the  area covered by our proposals including joint meetings to bring in other community and rail user groups / parishes and towns, to help us ensure that our proposal has widespread and common support.
