Let's hope their earlier cancellation notice hasn't put too many people off.

Although I'm not around and travelling today, I do have incoming messages about trips people are taking - not only regulars but "my first time on a senior card" and "can you help me / tell me which platform"

Does this make up for all the other times this train has been short formed ? I hope the passengers really spread themselves and their luggage around !

In some rail staff eyes, yes.

A decade ago (so no current managers implicated!) I was protesting at the cancellation of the 07:19 morning train to Swindon and was told that the second train (the 19:47) had been 5 carriages rather than 2, so we had actually been provided with more capacity rather than less that day ...  it may have been said in jest, but it was such a dry joke I think he was actually serious!

Nice sunny day ... perfect for a day out from Melksham to Weymouth .... and you can get back as far as Westbury, so it's almost a complete trip.

This is due to a shortage of train drivers.

OK - I admit it. I DO know that you'd also be bustituted Dorchester to Weymouth ...

Should be reinstated as a driver has agreed to stay on and do some overtime. If the diagrams don't change, Melksham will be graced with not one but two 153 units on that service!

Almost like old times ...

.... a very quiet station, engineering poster telling you what had happened for the last three weeks, help point showing a boot screen.    And a 153 (well - 2 of them).   They feel like old friends so I popped down to the station.  Stopped around to see the train headed the other way and that reminded me what progress we have made. We're not an image hosting service ... but images can be included from your own website or other image hosting.   There are free services available - see http://twcrp.info/t19774 for a recent discussion in "News and Assistance"
