The last pair of these leaves a three-hour gap towards London in the late afternoon, with nothing out of Worcester between 17:28 and 20:31.

And given the 16:34 Hereford to Paddington doesn't stop at Hanborough, that leaves a four hour gap between 17:41 and 21:33 for anyone wanting to travel from there.

Evesham Journal reports ...

Mid-Worcestershire MP (Member of Parliament) Nigel Huddleston calls for government intervention over 'significant deterioration' to Great Western Railways train services

http://www.eveshamjournal.co.uk/news/evesham/16128718.MP_calls_for_government_intervention_over___39_significant_deterioration__39__to_train_services/

About time too.  Who knows if it make any difference?  I suspect not.

The reply from GWR (Great Western Railway) was probably a "Cut and Paste" from Customer Services.

15:22 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 17:58 was terminated at Oxford.
It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Honeybourne, Evesham, Pershore, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcester Foregate Street, Malvern Link and Great Malvern.
This is due to train crew being delayed.

Last Updated:10/04/2018 16:28

A very last minute one this, with a full train's worth of passengers being evicted onto the platform at Oxford a few minutes after the scheduled departure time.

The same service was held at Oxford for 18 minutes yesterday waiting for a manager who was travelling on the 15:22 Worcester Shrub Hill to Paddington service to arrive.

It's hard not to get the impression that GWR (Great Western Railway) have been sending this service out from Paddington knowing there is not a train manager booked to take it beyond Oxford, and hoping they can sort something out in the meantime.

Today was due to the TM(resolve) misreading their diagram and thinking they were picking up the train at Reading at 16:25 and not at Oxford.  Roll Eyes  These days there are very rarely any spare crew at Oxford to jump into anyone's shoes.

Let's hope there are no problems with the 15:22 Paddington to Great Malvern today...

15:52 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh due 17:26 will be terminated at Oxford.
It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham and Moreton-in-Marsh.
This is due to a safety inspection of the track.

Additional Information
Following an earlier safety inspection of the track at Moreton-in-Marsh; restrictions have been put in place that currently prevent us from reversing certain types of trains at Moreton-in-Marsh. Rectification works are underway, but due to this issue the 15:52 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh and return 17:38 Moreton-in-Marsh to London Paddington will today terminate and start from Oxford.

Due to condition of the walking route when changing ends on HST (High Speed Train)’s at Moreton.  Not that that train reaches Moreton very often anyway!

Track found to be out of gauge by the NR» (Network Rail - home page) measurement train, so some urgent repairs required which could take up to the end of the day.

Quote
17:22 London Paddington to Hereford due 20:26 has been cancelled.
This is due to a fault on this train.

17.52 appears to be a 3-coach Turbo west of Oxford. Currently waiting on Oxford P4 for it to arrive. 16 coaches down to 3 is not going to be pretty.

Edit: Yup... extremely cosy. A pair of lovely Chiltern 168s have just drawn into P3 to taunt us...
