But they weren't very good coaches:

There'd be quite a wait for the next 'London Midland' service too. At least until refranchising, and only then if the name was resurrected.  Roll Eyes

Has nobody told GWR (Great Western Railway) that the lead operator in that area is now West Midlands Trains?

But we must record the most welcome fact that yesterday, Friday January 26, everything operated - no cancellations or short workings, for the first time this year.

Shortage of train managers for most of that list.  Pathetic. GWR (Great Western Railway) - Going Wrong Rapidly.

I sat on my case on a packed Turbo today until we reached Oxford at which point a seat became free. I had already worked out that it wouldn't be IET (Intercity Express Train) or HST (High Speed Train) through looking at RTT» (Real Time Trains - website). However what annoyed one of my fellow passengers was the sight of loads of IET at North Pole sitting idle. My own annoyance was that when I arrived at Moreton in Marsh there was a poster saying something like:

Owing to electrification work trains may differ from the printed timetable on the weekends.

Didn't see one of those in Paddington which would have been nice.

When was the last day on which the Cotswold's line service ran as advertised?

GWR (Great Western Railway) should give-up this route and let an operator who cares run it

26th January, I think  Grin (looking up-thread) ... but I'm getting confused between various "yesterdays" and "today"s up there!

Sorry - my fault with the date. But now corrected. And the correct answer is indeed Friday January 26.

1 day out of 29 so far in 2018 where the line ran as advertised (just out of interest, how many short formations on the 26th?)

Definitely the 07:10 Moreton-in-Marsh to Paddington which has now been a Turbo instead of an HST (High Speed Train) for 11 days running (and, yes, I have mentioned it before!).

We also need to document that

05:11 from Worcester Shrub Hill started 32 late, due to "Delays to train crew". 33 late at Paddington.

04:47 from Hereford ran late and ended up having to wait at Charlbury for the single line. 40 late at Paddington.

05:28 from Hereford also ran late. 23 late at Paddington.

06:53 Foregate Street - Didcot was only 12 late at Oxford but (according to RTT» (Real Time Trains - website)) took ages to get into Didcot, arriving 45 late.

07:50 Paddington - Great Malvern was cancelled between Worcester Shrub Hill and Great Malvern due to an issue with the train crew (TG).

Quote
10:59 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 13:29 will be started from Worcester Foregate Street.
This is due to congestion.
Further Information
Passengers for onwards connection to Great Malvern should await the 10:49 GWR (Great Western Railway) departure from Worcester Shrub Hill for Hereford.
Passengers wishing to travel from Great Malvern should await the West Midlands Railway service from Great Malvern at 11:10 to Worcester Foregate St and then change for the 12:00 GWR departure for London Paddington.

And the 07:10 Moreton-in-Marsh to Paddington (I've not mentioned that one recently...), although only 8 minutes late at Wolvercote Junction, left Oxford 18 late and arrived at Paddington 27 minutes late.
