16:22 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 19:26 will be terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill.
It is being delayed at Reading and is now expected to be 26 minutes late.
This is due to train crew being delayed by service disruption.

What a way to start the week!  You might say that BR (British Rail(ways)) was wasteful, by booking spare turns for traincrew at depots, so that in the event of something going wrong there was at least a margin of cover.

But what's worse? A planned amount of waste of staff time, or a service that keeps falling over because there aren't enough traincrew to cope?

If it wasn't so annoying and pathetic it would be funny.

The return trip is the important one given it’s half term.  Hundreds more inconvenienced people to add to the list since the service collapsed from the new year onwards.

Agreed, this is the first off peak train in the morning towards London, so lots of families going to the big smoke for the day.

And here come some more:

Quote

It will no longer call at Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-in-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury and Hanborough.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

14:21 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 16:44 will be terminated at Oxford.
It will no longer call at Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Honeybourne, Evesham, Pershore, Worcester Shrub Hill and Worcester Foregate Street.

and now a change of mind:

15:22 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 17:58

Facilities on the 15:22 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 17:58.
This is due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time.
Will be formed of 3 coaches instead of 5.

................and the return 1834...........isn't this supposed to be an HST (High Speed Train)?

This is a relatively new service (filling a long-standing gap between 14:22 and 15:49 from Paddington) and was originally a Class 180 before becoming an IET (Intercity Express Train) in mid-January (with a Turbo substitution inbetween).

Blimey. Certainly wouldn't fancy the best part of 3 hours on a Turbo.

Ah, but there will be some sort of road transport cover. For the London bound trip, passengers will be transported to Moreton-in-Marsh where they can squeeze into the 09:50 Turbo to Oxford/London.

But it's unacceptable to cancel the first off-peak London bound service every day during half-term.

It's the complete service level on the Cotswolds Line that's unacceptable
