Hi all, does anyone know why advance fares are not available for travel to PAD» (Paddington (London) - next trains) from NTA» (Newton Abbott - next trains) on the early train services on 15th May?  I assume it is maybe something to do with the ongoing engineering works, but subsequent weeks do have advance tickets available for these services.

If they're not put up soon I'll have to book a flight from Exeter instead.

Thanks in advance
Jon

15 May is slap bang in the middle of the 3rd Newbury shutdown. Chances are the train you're looking at will be amended so advance tickets won't be released until it's been finalised.

Or not available at all, bearing in mind there will be some thinning out of trains so fewer seats to put in the commercial bargain bucket?  - Discuss

Thanks for the updates.  The flight option is looking likely then as I'm not paying full fare prices Smiley

Perhaps GWR (Great Western Railway) have read this thread. A pop up message now appears advising of the blockade.
National Express is a much cheaper option although the journey time is at least double that of GWR

Those pop-ups have been in for a while already.
