Known issues on the server in this thread ...

a) Mail System not operational again yet.   You will not get any notifies (for fix Saturday)
Our rebuild from 32 to 64 bit gave us a cut-down server and the web server was the first thing to get back.  Outgoing email is the next stage.

b) Click on system disruption map does not drill down to individual station. (software work needed)

c) Onsite backups running less frequently; offsite manually.  Please keep a text copy of important posts (weekend restor planned to a better-than-before level)

Outgoing mail installed, configured, and initially tested.  Watchful eye being kept - please report any instances where you would have received and email in the past but have not done so for the last few days.

I am continuing doing a few of those little remaining things on the server that take a long time today.  And that may mean some server stops / restarts (no more than a few minutes break) and "database busy" type messages - I suggest you take a copy of any long contributions into text file just in case the server's not available as you submit.

Part of the work is "deep" backups - typically these are automatic and done around 2 in the morning when there's not much call for resource (rail equivalent would be single line working between Slough and Maidenhead). These big data backups, data compression runs, etc do gobble up resources and require databases to be locked at times to avoid us backing up an inconsistency, so you may notice poor responses.

f) Server busy / timeouts

I am aware of these - the database install done last week has basic default parameters set, but these days we're so busy we need to configure in some more server resource to it. Need to remind myself what the settings are ... dig around a bit.
