More seriously - Community cafe and information point, customer loos, extended parking, connecting bus services, better foot and cycle access.   Come along to the Melksham Rail User Group on 4th July at the Town Hall at 19:30, where Paul will be going through all the various options and opportunities.

On my recent trip to Ireland, one of the things that I noticed was the number of new and old footbridges, some quite eye-catching.   Mind you, they may not convert to England as they're for 5'3" gauge.

If this becomes a separate conversation, I can split the thread.  Can anyone recognise any locations?

I have seen reports which suggested the platform extension at Melksham might be available for use from tomorrow.

Having seen it this afternoon it is not quite complete.

Suspect it might also need something more substantial at the far end to protect the two foot drop.

What length is it being extended to?

3 car, 23 metre carriage train.  I've seen a figure - I believe 70 metres / may have been 75?

20:08 Swindon to Westbury due 20:49 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

With our new larger station! It's a good time to support the station user group 'Melksham Rail Users Group'. Come along to the Town Hall at Melksham on Wednesday 4th July at 19:30. Your input will be welcomed!
