Since the TfL» (Transport for London - about) takeover of the HCon the lack of RPOs and the epidemic of FoS oiks have been major issues. Now it appears that RPOs are again travelling and checking tickets in greater numbers, e.g. two per train. BUT they are contractors. So on Sunday going from H&H into Paddington we had our tickets duly checked. But the train was crowded, with yoofs on bikes blocking the doors, aggressive drunks also blocking the doors, and numerous scummy tourists with their feet up on the seats. This latter is epidemic on the HCon. When I commented to the RPOs about asking people to keep their feet off of the seats, I was told in no uncertain terms "can't do that, it's not our job." TfL - Transport for London
HCon - Heathrow Connect
RPO - Revenue Protection Officer
FoS - First Open Single (??) - Feet on Seats?
H&H - Hayes and Harlington

The Feet-on-Seats issue is not limited to the UK (United Kingdom) ... in Ireland, the "please keep you feet off the seats" is played as often as "see it, say it, sorted" in the UK, and seems to be ineffective.  One of those rules which people think only applies to everyone outside their group.
