I have noticed purple furniture at 2 stations …………………. so far, apart from the 345's

At Taplow and Burnham new benches on the platforms with purple arm rests.

Anyone spotted other purple items

They're actually rather nice. Taplow is a much better station environment generally now that TfL» (Transport for London - about) have taken over (no offence Ted)......just a shame NR» (Network Rail - home page) vandalised our lovely old footbridge.

I thought it was their contractor that did the vandalising - not authorised by NR

And the old iconic GWR (Great Western Railway) seats (the original one) will be scrapped. They could be donated to Broadway or other ex-GWR heritage stations. But I expect TfL» (Transport for London - about) hasn't clue about these, and the contractors authorised or not likely don't care.

Why not put a notice on it' "OFFERS INVITED", money raised to be given to a charity, I am sure many people would love it for their garden to sit on in this weather.

Indeed. Perhaps CJB would care to suggest that to TFL (Transport for London) and any interested parties could bid for them?

Ellendune - not sure how it works on the railways but elsewhere I think you'll find that if you appoint a subcontractor and they mess up, you have to take responsibility and carry the can, they're acting on your behalf.......although I do get that on the railways shifting blame is an epidemic.

If you are a contractor and your subcontractor messes up that is so.  But NR» (Network Rail - home page) are the client and the main contractor normally takes all that risk.  Reputational damage will be incurred by Nr of course.
