12th June 2018  ... TravelWatch SouthWest board meeting today - and a lot of interesting discussions with a lot of well informed people with different views.    Yet where each of us goes / what each of us observes differs.  And there may be things to be gained from sharing.

As an experiment ... I have added this "Diary of a Transport Campaigner" board.  Intent to start a thread each week - looking forward to the next 7 days, and then logging the week as it goes.  It's Members only but no minimum post level, and it's reply only which I think means that any member who's logged in can comment but they can't start new threads.   Idea of that combo is to allow me to be slightly forward with personal plans, and also encourage people to sign up and log in once they know about the board.   Theories are great ... let's see what happens in practise!

Should the experiment fail, I can merge the posts into "intro and chat" ...

Whilst the intent here was (in part) to give me review / think time as well as keeping folks informed, I think I may have taken on one more thing than I should.   I am snowed under - currently looking at draft January (or is that May?) 2019 timetables to help fine tune some of the rough edges off, preparing for a walk in the carnival, and sorting out IT problems at our Scottish client.  Also working out with Lisa if we should make London tomorrow; I suspect our robustness rules us out. So (cutting long story short)  I'm going to follow up on my fallback; unless something happens over the next couple of days, I'll be moving each of the topics here ...

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
