Last Sunday the HCon services were completely cancelled. This meant that there were no T4 shuttles either. How did airline pax get to T4? The same may happen again this Sunday and indeed every Sunday for some time.

The HEX and HCon are supposed to be reliable services for Heathrow for justifying the third runway. This year the services seem to have gotten worse with the old HCon stock requiring repairs all at the same time resulting in massive cancellations, and new TfL» (Transport for London - about) / Crossrail stock being incapable of entering the tunnels due to incompatibilities with train control.

The third runway is still a little way of opening, and there should be plenty of time for Heathrow Express, Heathrow Connect, and Elizabeth line services to get through their current completion and restructure phase prior to the first plane landing there.  Grin

To cover the former Connect and the inter-terminal shuttle, TfL» (Transport for London - about) Rail need 4 out of 5 of the class 360s to be operational.

On Monday there was only 1 class 360 in service meaning it ran once every 90 minutes.

More regularly they have suspended the inter-terminal shuttle by being one unit short. In the T4-T2/3 direction it usually makes more sense now to use the Piccadilly, but no option for the reverse (except by going via Hatton Cross, which is still free for interchange).
