From The BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page)

Quote
Supermarkets Aldi and Lidl say they will close stores early on Sunday if England get through to the World Cup final - because "football's coming home".

The chains have promised all staff in stores in England they can go home at 15:00 BST on Sunday 15 July so they can watch the match.

Now some are asking whether other supermarkets will follow suit.

Looking wider than supermarkets - what other businesses and services should consider closing early on Sunday?

Nobody suggest GWR (Great Western Railway).

They barely open on a Sunday as it is!

Let's come back to this thread after the game tomorrow.  It will either be irrelevant then - or very relevant indeed.

I’ve been told they’re offering huge incentives to staff to work!

I see Virgin Trains have lifted all ticket restrictions today so that people can get home in time for tonight's game.
I suppose most of those travelling to Glasgow won't be taking up the offer Smiley  Grin Wink

GWR (Great Western Railway) have put the stickers on another train today,
ITS COMING HOME along with the names of the whole England football team !
So I've tweeted them and asked if they might lift ticket restrictions to help people home.
