I got a clip of 8mm cine film which I took from the footplate of a BR (British Rail(ways)) standard tank coming down that incline after we had been up to Easton to collect a consignment of Portland stone.

No.10 - Rhyl No.2 Signalbox

(Well you would expect an S&T (Signalling and Telegraph) Engineer to get that one).......

Seen in better days (note the lookout and bell and the post device at the middle bottom - a 'Firemans Call Box'): https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3826/9517913442_87f5157254_b.jpg

Correct so far ...

4. Lynton - Stuving
5. Marchwood - PhilWakely
6. Penhelig - Rob on the Hill
8. Portland - Bradshaw
10. Rhyl - SandTEnghineer

Sorry - No. 9 is not Holyhead, and No. 10 is Rhyl rather than Shrewsbury.

Halfway there!

Don't know where no 9 is but how great to see a bus / coach station just a few paces away from the train doors.

Is 3 the now closed Tiverton junction ? replaced by Tiverton parkway.
Logged

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards, luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

Does look good, doesn't it.   Passengers photographed not thrilled to be using those buses which were running as rail replacement for that train though!

Sorry - it isn't  (hint, Holiday thread ... no Taunton or neighbouring stations  Grin )

2. Huddersfield.

7 = Shawfair.

And those two are both correct.
