Not sure where to post / start this thread - but as the board title claims "Swindon, Chippenham, Melksham, Trowbridge, Westbury, Dilton Marsh, Warminster and Salisbury" I'll put it under TransWilts.

TransWilts IS about travel right across Wiltshire north to south, even though concentration in recent years has been on getting the improved (but still infrequent) service from Swindon to Westbury up to a marketed, used, reliable, permanent fixture.    The 05:17 from Gloucester and the 17:41 from Cheltenham Spa already carry on to Salisbury and Southampton from Westbury, and off the other trains that terminate at Westbury you'll see a flow of passengers change off the arrival from Swindon onto trains that carry on via Warminster (and also to other trains).

So ... posting here logs and significant issues south of Westbury on the local trains.

Quote
05:17 Gloucester to Southampton Central due 08:09
05:17 Gloucester to Southampton Central due 08:09 will be terminated at Salisbury.
It will no longer call at Romsey and Southampton Central.
It has been delayed at Westbury and is now 25 minutes late.
This is due to train crew being delayed.

There's quite a flow Trowbridge to Warminster / Salisbury on that train, a big connectional flow at Salisbury into the Andover / Basignstoke / Waterloo connection.  And quite a bit of use into Southampton where a significant number of commuters disembark.  Not a lot of happy chappies this morning - but at least the school flow is on summer holibobs!

08:47 Warminster to Cardiff Central due 10:45
08:47 Warminster to Cardiff Central due 10:45 will be started from Westbury.
It will no longer call at Warminster and Dilton Marsh.
This is due to engineering works not being finished on time.

Grrrrr ... only two hours to the next train.   The one was new the year and has been bullding well - let's hope that road replacement from Warminster and Dilton Marsh are provided and connect with the ongoing train, and the Weymouth train too, at Westbury.

Connection wasn't held but the next service was 47 minutes later, and by the time the bus would have arrived I'm guessing it wouldn't have been to a longer wait
