A little bit different this one - a mixture of old and new. Over recent weeks, I have written in "Frequent Posters" of the passing of John Money; what I haven't said much about is the quantity of material he left with no home for it to go to; alas, much to house clearance and, sadly landfill - in spite of such sorting and cataloguing of much of it. Some items John left a note for me to have, and after I had helped find a couple of other items that were wanted I was offered and took the opportunity of saving railway books, videos and photo albums. I know where most of these were taken, and I have mixed mine, John's and a few others from his collection. John would have love people to look through them while he talked (and talked  ) about them. What can you tell me of the where and the when. 0. Ryde Esplanade - Rogerw 1. Seaton - PhilWakely 2. Swindon - Lee 3. Gloucester - Chris from Nailsea 4. Crich - eightonedee 5. Coombe Down Tunnel, Bath - Timmer 6. Salisbury - brooklea 7. Goose Green - Stuving 8. Probably not Evercreech Junction, nor Taunton ... (I don't know either! - G) 9. Worcester Shrub Hill - chuffed |

5 Entrance to Combe Down tunnel Bath on the old and sadly no longer S&D▸ . Often a double header to get the train up the steep gradient out of Bath. Now part of the excellent Two Tunnels walking/cycle path.

No, 8. is not Evercreech Junction. That was curved platforms, with much wider trackbed between them. I cannot suggest any alternative location, just at the moment - but I'm still digging! |

Close ... but you would probably have cause a tram to get to this location if you were between Peckham Rye and the Embankment. |
