From Paul Johnson, chair of TransWilts

Quote
Appointment of TransWilts Community Rail Officer

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sophie Martin as our new Community Rail Officer effective from Monday 8th October 2018.

Initially she is working 3 days per week Tuesday to Thursday inclusive and may be contacted by email at sophie@transwilts.org and by telephone 07379 17 5055.

Would you kindly update your records and note that all future TransWilts community rail officer correspondence should be sent to her.

This is part of our restructuring to increase the future effectiveness of our CRP (Community Rail Partnership). We are also shortly introducing a “TransWilts Ambassador” role - to be responsible for supporting passengers at our stations and coordinating with our volunteer and rail user groups.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me - or of course Sophie.

Sophie will have some Big shoes to fill in her new post ,I wish her well ,does she have any previous rail experience? Or will it be a case of on the job training.

No thanks to the previous holder of that position?

No thanks to the previous holder of that position?

A question is raised as to whether the previous holder of the role was effective enough:

P.S. Paul did say "Thank You" to the previous holder of the position at TravelWatch SouthWest on Saturday, in the "Just a minute" slot ... a "thank you" so positive that I'm afraid it reminded me of an obit.   Paul is a professional operator who clearly wants to move on - I can understand that.

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity.
