Well it's true that it was added to SEWTA's wish list in their last strategy report. But I have to say, I have a fairly good understanding of the railways and geography of the area, and until that report was published, I hadn't even considered the possibility. But maybe the population in those villages have grown significantly in the last decade or so.

Still, you've got to laugh, ^1m they quote. That won't even reinstate the junction at Llantrisant which I believe was plain-lined a year or so back. (Can someone confirm?)

Wales Assembly have control over railways in Wales - Department for Tarmac can't really interfere much to their disgust... trust me - they've tried and failed on many issues.
