Parson street railway station passenger numbers

Parson street railway station passenger numbers

Wikipedia says Parson Street usage is 114,000 in year ending 2015.

ABC Railway guide says entry/exit is 22,985 in year 2015.

Could anyone clarify?

The figures ABC Railway Guide is quoting as entry/exit are the first figures in the ORR^» 's data tables for the year ending that March, which are for "full" (not clearly defined by ORR, but probably anytime even with a card or child reduction) and entry only. This looks like an error in whatever process scoops up the ORR's data from their site.

No - but I could add even more figures from our own site http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/smr/PSN.html

7,231 in 2004/2005 rising to 145,608 in 2016/17. Those are ORR^» stats for ticketed entries and exits, and match the Wikipedia figure. Lots of data on the ORR site, and in people's personal knowledge, relating to local distortions of ticket numbers v journey numbers.

The ABC guild figure looks low - from rough maths, I make that just 40 people per day joining trains at Parson Street (and 40 leaving). With over 40 trains per day calling there these days, that means that someone gets off and someone gets on a typical train. Local comment, anyone??
