Train hits tree 29/11/2018 Newquay branch

Customer Advice
This morning a train travelling to Newquay struck a tree in the Roche area, this caused damaged to the train which has meant it has had to return to the depot for repairs.

For the rest of today road transport will be provided between St Austell and Newquay. Please see station signage for the rail replacement pick up locations. This road transport may run later than advertised train times. ... [snip] ...

Anyone who's travelled on the Newquay branch in recent years could, sadly, have predicted this. Vegetation not very well managed. Summer 2017 my last visit it was like travelling down a tree tunnel in several places.

Anyone know the extent of the damage to the unit (a 150/2 I understand) and whether it will be OOU^▸ for any length of time?

It was 150247 which received extensive cab and bodyside damage. It returned to Par and later Exeter being driven from the undamaged end. It also has wheelflats. A few days ago it was still at Exeter waiting onward movement to Bristol.
