Under "The wider picture - related rail, public and other transport issues"

There's no option for a "New topic" just "mark read" and "notify"

I think it might be set to read only, the description on the home page view suggests it is awaiting splitting or alteration into two other subjects.

The subject of splitting / merging topics (which is done purely in the interests of clarity and ease of future reference) was touched upon during our Coffee Shop planning meeting in Westbury today.

Just catching up with this particular topic, paul7755 has described exactly why there is no option to start a new topic on this particular board: any new topics may be started on either of the new boards.

Unfortunately, as I do any such splitting in my 'spare time', it sometimes doesn't get completed as soon as I'd like - but this is a timely reminder that I need to complete this particular task.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
