I hope the toilets at Melksham station are in good working order, Graham, as Journey Check states that the unit today is toiletless and that station toilets should be used Smiley Smiley

 Grin Grin

I wonder if arrangement are being made to have the loos at Trowbridge remain open once the staff go off duty ...

In all seriousness, lack of loos on the train is very minor compared to complete lack of trains.

Distance is a factor here, I've seen instances of toiletless trains betwen Cardiff and Portsmouth.

Does this mean it's running via some other route than BOA to Thingley or cancelled completely? If its a forecast weather issue, is the weather at MKM» (Melksham (Station code) - next trains) likely to be worse than elsewhere on the route?

The trains concerned will be reversing at Bathampton.

Limited investment / maintenance in pointwork that's able to function reliably in severe weather at the end of the single line means that Network Rail close the line through Melksham as a precaution at times.  Of course proper solution would be to provide proper robust infrastructure like they do in most other places (there are some loops and crossovers out of use too when the weather gets bad, but I don't know of any other complete lines!)

Or station watchmen at Thingley and Bradford Junctions to "babysit" the points.

The Met Office is currently predicting no snow in Melksham until around 9pm, so it seems a bit premature to close the line by 7.30. I expect it will still be closed tomorrow after the 1cm of "heavy snow" has fallen too.  Angry

I see the 19:32 from Westbury has been removed from the list of amended services.   I assume that means it will now run through Melksham - although positive confirmation of that rather than just removing any reference to it would be better in my opinion.
