Excellent ... a step in the right direction.  And there was me being a miserable git and waiting for the cancellation of the 13:30-ish Swindon to Weymouth.

But its not a cancellation is it?

RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) showing RT Melksham, 3L Bradford Jcn, 21L Trowbridge and 23L at Frome

Return working currently RT at Chippenham and has been reported RT all the way.

Correct - thread is "cancellation and amendments log" - with backup data such as that just above being one of the sources used to help the Melksham Rail User Group report back to TransWilts on the performance from a Melksham perspective.   See Reply No. 293 for the (1st August) report

The example above is a relatively minor one - "only" 22 minutes - though anyone making connections to the Waterloo or Taunton train would have been having kittens!   Looking on Real Time Trains, the Waterloo was stuck behind anyway, and the Taunton connection made by less than 4 minutes.

Additional Information
Customers for Trowbridge and Westbury are advised to travel to Bath Spa and Change. Customers travelling to / from Melksham, road replacement transport will operate from Chippenham.

Can't use the "Sunday is voluntary" reason as it's a Tuesday!   But good to see road replacement transport is in place - a step in the right direction.  Now - please - tell people at Melksham via the help point screen that the bus or taxis will be along.   I'm not at the station - finger crossed that the common sense of putting something appropriate and informative on the display will happen.

Facilities on the 05:17 Gloucester to Southampton Central due 08:09.
Toilet facilities are not available.
This is due to a fault on this train.

A train of multiple parts - in other words people are getting on and off along the way - so I wouldn't expect this to be a major issue even if it's three hours end to end.

If it sticks to Diagram it will be carrying some desperate passengers on the 1730 from Weymouth

It was swapped for a 166 at Bristol TM(resolve) on its way back from Southampton and sent to the naughty step at SPM (St Philip's Marsh (Bristol depot)).

4 O'Clock in the morning and journey checks already reporting

Quote
Train Cancellations
18:32 Westbury to Swindon due 19:21
20:08 Swindon to Westbury due 20:49

Thank you for the good notice.  But pretty poor show that - with how many drivers - GWR (Great Western Railway) can't find a single driver for a contracted service at 14 hours notice.

When expanded, both reports of the form

Quote
20:08 Swindon to Westbury due 20:49
20:08 Swindon to Westbury due 20:49 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.
Further Information

If you hold a valid single, return, or weekly ticket, you will be able to claim compensation for delays of 15 minutes or more. Please keep your ticket and visit GWR.com/DelayRepay

Plenty of time to arrange alternative transport, especially as the 2006 is the last Melksham service of the day
