But this should be an interesting diversion:

Quote
17:22 London Paddington to Hereford due 20:29 will be diverted between Hanborough and Pershore.
It will call additionally at Combe, Finstock, Ascott-under-Wychwood and Shipton.
It will be delayed due to the diversion and is expected to be 15 minutes late.
This is due to the train making extra stops because a train was cancelled.

Just lost the ten minutes after making those additional stops, and some 700 on board from Oxford apparently.  That would have been a very full IET (Intercity Express Train), but even worse had it been a HST (High Speed Train) and no doubt it would’ve lost far more than ten minutes as well.

Increasingly I am concerned about the quality of the information released and wonder if it is ever sense checked by anyone experienced. Quite often the information will make little or no sense to the ordinary passenger. (I fear the “well, it makes sense to us” mentality might prevail. An amusing example recently was “Toilet facilities are available” “This is due to a fault on this train”

1W33 was replace by

Quote
1Z33 1725 Oxford to Great Malvern

which departed Oxford 44 minutes late.

Presumably many were able to get as far as Oxford using alternative routes but I have no idea if GWR (Great Western Railway) put on any road transport to convey passengers on to the Cotswolds and beyond.

From personal experience, I can report that the 15:22 Shrub Hill - Paddington was also cancelled between Reading and Paddington.

You've had a great day out in London. Back to Paddington for your return to the Cotswolds:

Quote
17:22 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 19:46 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

20:01 Worcester Foregate Street to London Paddington due 22:29 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Also covered in the more general "Shortage of train crews" thread http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=18719.msg266388#new

but for the sake of completeness:

Quote
14:32 Hereford to London Paddington due 17:59 will be terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill.
It will no longer call at Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-in-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough, Oxford, Didcot Parkway, Reading, Slough and London Paddington.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

19:49 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 22:27 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Not ideal when it’s a busy Sunday afternoon, the next train is a (booked) 5-car IET (Intercity Express Train), and there’s no Oxford to Marylebone services today.

And today we have several short-formed services (but can you trust this information on JourneyCheck?), plus

15:22 Paddington - Great Malvern, turned short at Foregate Street "due to a problem with the train", even though it arrived on time at Foregate Street.

and 18:29 return started from Foregate Street likewise.

Seems a bit of a premature call to truncate this service:

Quote
16:22 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 19:24 will be terminated at Worcester Foregate Street.
It will no longer call at Malvern Link and Great Malvern.
It is being delayed between Reading and Oxford and is now expected to be 20 minutes late.
This is due to a fault on this train.

Last Updated:12/06/2019 17:25

It was running 17 minutes late as it passed through the Didcot area but had made up ten of those minutes by Charlbury.
