Unbelievable actions from the start, I also can't believe three of them were involved and not one of them thought there could be an issue with their actions

Now it has hit the national press, I fully expect P45's and a slap on the wrist from BTP (British Transport Police)

I agree with the lady filming the proceedings in that the police should have been called to move the man on. He was in fact in the station forecourt and so trespassing on railway land. What training did the staff trying laudably to keep their station tidy have for this situation?

I don't think that homelessness or vagrancy (still illegal under the 1824 Act) is an excuse for obstructing or fouling  rights of way. There is a great deal of action and expense directed towards these problems by charities, churches and local authorities.

None of that though is an excuse to assault someone.

I like that fact that you 'liked' your own post there, BNM. You obviously agree with yourself, and rightly so!

No excuse for the way they acted. Common assault is illegal, and notwithstanding ancient Acts of Parliament I'd like to think we aspire to a somewhat more enlightened way of dealing with the vulnerable homeless than assaulting  them with mops and filthy water.

I'm not sure that "training" is necessary in order to act with common decency and humanity to those less fortunate than oneself?

Fat fingers while bouncing along on some rough permanent way. Not a conscious decision or sign of schizophrenia. But yes, I agree wholeheartedly with myself. Cheesy

I'm sure that training in public contact is necessary today for all front of house staff, even cleaners. The weakening of family, school and social influences means that decency and humanity are not now so common. The lower paid grades, especially those on contract, may also not see themselves as much more fortunate than those they meet.

I don't excuse this entirely wrong assault, I just want to avoid it happening again.

If there are people around who need "training" to understand that this sort of behaviour is wrong, I'm not sure that they should be having anything to do with jobs involving public service. In fact they should probably be kept well away from the public.
