This forum is moving from a loosely defines passenger grouping toward something much more defined. I wouldn't describe it as "changing" really - much more formalising what we do. And one of the really interesting things that's already revealed is just how widespread our readership (and writership) is amongst people in the community, the rail industry and government at various levels.  I'm pretty sure that's been the case for quite a while, but our new definition helps people know who we are, how well informed some of our members are and how fresh thinking some of our members are.

Where you see a thread that's looking forward, looking for views, it is now even more worthwhile contributing. "I would be most interest to see what feedback you get on that" to quote someone today. Your contributions here are helping inform - perhaps not a quantitative view unless we do a poll, but sewing seeds of thought.

And ... having written that ... I'm going to specifically encourage you to take a look at the Heart of Wessex thread at http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=21136.0 ... which starts off celebrating the great work Catherine has done, but then looks ahead.   What do YOU think - especially if you're a user of the line and stations, or if you have an experience to share that might be useful.

P.S. If you're reading this but not a member, registration is free and easy and you will be very very welcome.

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. Views expressed in posts are not necessarily the views of the operators of the forum.

As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
