https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-47607676During testing of new signalling reports state. No passengers on board as this was an early morning test before the start of public services.
Both drivers taken to hospital.
Initial reports strongly suggest a signalling defect. It is not clear whether the trains were under automatic control, or being driven manually with the driver perhaps misled by erroneous signal aspects.
The damage appears to be substantial and would probably have resulted in loss of life if the trains had been full of passengers.
Serious delays are forecast.
