A nice easy one for most of you......... and probably not the wisest choice for me, recovering as I am from a spell in hospital with full-on Flu and Pneumonia [and now Shingles  ]  |

There is a "Scotland" and an "Ireland" near Westbury .... but no Park and Ride yet ... so not there.
There is a park and ride and a station at Swindon, but a "New Zealand" not a Scotland near there.
400 miles from Gretna Green ... Truro?

I concur. I have a picture of one of those signs too, somewhere. The 'Park & Ride' refers to the facility at Norden and the 'Railway Station' is on the Swanage Railway.
Quite why the tiny hamlet (a farm and not much else) of Scotland has been signposted in several places is a bit of a mystery. There's nothing there as far as I can tell. Perhaps a little joke on the part of the folk responsible for commissioning the signs.

Yup! see here!Took a trip to Corfe Castle to phot a visiting BR▸ Standard tank engine...............   Seems everybody else was interested in some other visitor     |

Wow,that really is a triple whammy. No wonder you were in emergency Ward 10. You will need to take it very easy for some considerable time. Perhaps a few tail wags and licks from BNM's canine companion would cheer you up!

Love the pictures of trains as they used to be on that line; a 2-6-4 tank with a rake of green carriages seems so much more "Corfe" than the thing that has novelty value. I remember a couple of happy afternoons in my childhood up on the hill opposite the castle, watch trains (thumpers) calling ... travelling from Waterloo to Swanage, arriving there in 4TC with a 33 for power on what must have been the very dying tail of the through service.

Just for grahame................ taken on 2nd April 1970, a Thumper departs Corfe Castle for Wareham. I had just run down from the castle and was about to run back up again   |
