Melksham Community Bus – Day trip to Swanage

Many of you have been asking in the TIC (Tourist Information Centre) about the Days out with the Community Bus this year.

“We have decided that we would like to offer a day trip to Swanage on Saturday 27th April,” says the organisers. “The trip will follow our usual format with local pick ups around Melksham and the surrounding area.

“Please call the Tourist Information Office for further information and to book a seat – 01225 707424

“We are asking people to book by 19th April please. Further trips will be announced at a later date.

On Sunday 28th April, I am d-r-i-v-i-n-g from Melksham to Colyton for tram ride to Seaton ... a memorial trip for Melksham Railway Development Group member John Money who passed away last year. I do have a couple of seats available if anyone would like to join us - and that's AOK whether you knew John or not.    10:00 from Melksham, back around 20:00.   Please message me / email me - should be a great day out.

I'm getting old; I can recall watching thumpers calling at Corfe Castle, and travelling on TC(resolve) sets with class 33 to Swanage in what must have been the final year or two of the through Waterloo service on Summer Saturdays.

Lovely day in Colyton and Seaton; more pictures may follow; main purpose of the day - see ((here)) - celebration of John Money, long time supporter of Seaton Tramway and Melksham Rail Development Group, who passed last August.
