Rail lines between Barnham, Chichester and Havant will be closed for nine days over the Autumn half term during a multi-million pound project to upgrade lines.

Network Rail will be working between October 26th and November 3rd, and over the following weekend, to lay 2.3km of new track.
The project also includes replacing life-expired equipment at the Basin Road, Stockbridge, Brook Lane and Bosham level crossings with new, more reliable technology as part of efforts to improve journeys for passengers.
It means buses will replace trains between Havant and Chichester between Monday 28th October and Friday 1st November, making journeys longer than usual.
On the following weekend dates the line between Barnham and Havant will be closed, meaning buses will replace trains between those stations on each date affected.
Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October
Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November
Sunday 10th November
Sunday 17th November
Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December

Combining into a single list ...

Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November INCLUSIVE
then Sundays 10th, 17th, 30th November and 1st December

Obviously, GWR (Great Western Railway) services to Brighton via Havant will not be able to run; details in due course (no doubt) ...

Throughout the work there will be no Southern trains west of Havant to Portsmouth or Southampton.

Great Western Railway services to/from Brighton will run to and from Portsmouth instead.

Trains to London will still run from Havant (to London Waterloo via South Western Railway) and Bognor Regis (via Southern).

During the week days, trains to London will also run from Chichester (via Southern).
