Cycle route along disused railway line to be finished by the end of the year

The final two stages of the Wray Valley Trail cycle that links Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead should be complete by the end of the year

To date, 5.5km of the 11km route has been built, with the section from Moretonhampstead to Wray Barton in the north and between Bovey Tracey and Lustleigh in the south, but the final £1m section of the trail has yet to be completed.

It is set to be finished by autumn 2019 and Teignbridge District Council’s executive on Thursday morning agreed to put £100,000 towards the project.

If I understand it correctly 3.5 km for £1 million. How much would that buy you on road or rail?

That's quite a high sum for a cycleway! But one bridge can easily bump up the cost. It looks like there's already a £500k bridge on the route: https://www.devonlive.com/news/devon-news/calls-compulsory-purchase-orders-used-2096744
