Researchers have found that dogs have evolved muscles around their eyes, which allow them to make expressions that particularly appeal to humans.
A small facial muscle allows dog eyes to mimic an "infant-like" expression which prompts a "nurturing response".
The study says such "puppy eyes" helped domesticated dogs to bond with humans.

The journalist was seen on the Penzance to London train with her whippet Moody on Sunday afternoon, reports The Mirror .
One passenger said: “I was really surprised to see the dog on the seat. There wasn’t even a mat or newspaper underneath it.
Could it be that our Newsnight presenter wasn't to blame in any way for allowing the dog onto the seat (even, according to the rest of the story, for a few minutes when the train was quieter) ... but rather than she had been shamelessly manipulated by the dog into allowing him up?
