The Melksham Rail User Group is taking a stand at the afternoon (open from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.) - this is an opportunity for us to reach the general population of Melksham who we rarely see at the station or on a bus, pass out information, and tell them about local public transport.

We can have up to five volunteers staffing the stand - and we'll do so in shifts - but I need to know names so I can pass them through in the next few days for our wristbands.  First two names are myself and $%^&* - together we had a very successful day on Saturday last at the Semington village fete. Looking for localish help (for at least 2 hours please!) - if that's you,  please let me know.

We'll have our "Melksham Rail Timetable - Summer and Autumn 2019" leaflet as our key distribution ... we'll have IsamBIRD Kingdom BrunOWL to attract people over.  Other materials including bus timetables, colouring sheets, and enquiry forms ... and new HiVis Melksham Rail User Group jackets or T shirts for all to wear.

Notwithstanding what I said to you in a personal message not 20 minutes ago ( Grin ) I could probably do an "early turn" if I could get away for the 1535 bus back to Chippenham.

Thank you.  I will almost certainly take you up on that; good to have you on first shift.  I'm 'light' on online time for a couple of days ... detailed plans at the weekend by p.m. and email. Good to have you.

Three pictures from "Party in the Park" yesterday.  I came home exhausted. Big THANK YOU to forum members martyjon and Robin Summerhill who came to help, and also to the rest of the MRUG» (Melksham Rail User Group - site) team before the event and at the event.  Really appreciated, gents, as there was a lot happening all around yesterday and many of our regulars were out far and wide - anywhere from Weymouth in the south to up north at Derby!

A full review of the village fete and carnival season that's just drawn to a close is at http://www.mrug.org.uk/sc2019_thankyou.pdf - I will be "majoring" on that in another thread.

Just a little reminder to Grahame that next time the MRUG» (Melksham Rail User Group - site) Gazebo has an outing, DON'T FORGET A HAMMER for the pegs, I know I didn't think of it either when you asked me at your place before we left there but then I have an excuse, I've never put a gazebo before.

Indeed I will remember.   But then if we had had a hammer, we wouldn't have forged such a friendly relationship with that lady who had one, would we?
