I have been invited to spend a few minutes in Westbury on Monday evening, to work through a checklist of things going on relating to transport around there, with particular reference to the station.   I came up with ...

* Sub National Transport Bodies - Western Gateway STB
* SWLEP - Rail review
* Timetables, December 2019
* Bristol Metro
* Go-op
* DA3 and beyond
* Timetables, a longer term view
* SWR» (South Western Railway - about) franchise in trouble
* Great West Way
* Williams and fares
* Freightliner and stone
* Dilton Marsh
* HS2 (The next High Speed line(s)) construction traffic
* Platform 4 and doubling via Melksham
* Community Room and Community Rail Office
* Community Rail changes
* Proposed Stations - Wilton, Devizes Parkway, Ashton Park
* Station Bridge, etc
* WWRUG» (West Wiltshire Rail Users Group - about), TWSW» (TravelWatch SouthWest - website), RailFuture.
* Buses

And I've written up some details ((here)).   Anything I've forgotten / aren't aware of that should be added to the checklist?

Yes - good thing to add / mention

Is the possibility of a station at Royal Wootton Bassett too far into the future ?

The strategy I've referred to in the overview takes a look at two RWB options.  I suspect that as a Westbury briefing for what's not going to be a long session, it's probably a little distant to give too bring in - I chose to leave it out, but if conversation heads that way on Monday or there's any follow up ...

Establishment by SWR» (South Western Railway - about) of a train crew depot at Yeovil Junction from December 2019. What improvements/opportunities is this likely to bring?

One hopes that it will end the lack of traincrew that has blighted the service today and other services recently.

In another forum it is stated that the new depot at Yeovil Junction will have both drivers and guards.

Couple of queries/clarifications: in the document you refer to a new station at Ashton Park - what/where is that? Also, much though it pains me to point it out, for 'Bristol Metro' read 'MetroWest'...

Ashton Park is a proposal for an additional station between Trowbridge and Westbury, where the town of Trowbridge is growing so rapidly on what were green fields that it may in future consider itself a wannabe city.

If it ever comes to pass I would strongly suggest finding another name.

Otherwise on Saturday afternoons the place might be full of disappointed away-team-supporting football fans when Bristol City are playing at home...
