Just this one left .... does ANYONE including those who have answered already know where it is ... as I have today's "Sunny Seaside Specials" waiting to go ... hopefully there will be some not quite so far flung as this!

I know you've been to Wick, so have I but I don't remember Wick as the fot portrays but who knows memories do play games with their owners at times. Perhaps a clue by posting the view from, NOT OF, your backside.

I would go with Wick. Having looked through Platform 5 ‘ Track Atlas’ it is the only fit I can find. Street view does support it but the view is distant

I was about to post that I don't remember any trees growing in Wick, the whole area was very bleak when I went there, so I doubted it would be there (but I've only been there once and that was a long time ago, so I'm probably wrong). Graham's 'far flung' comment would also back up Wick as the likely answer.

If Wick is wrong, I was going to say that it does look very east coast to me, and knowing Graham has recently been to Yorkshire, my guess is somewhere on its eastern coast. I was up in Scarborough recently and I'm sure it isn't there. I've not been to either of the stations in Filey or Bridlington, but my guess would have been one of those, perhaps the latter most likely?

It is indeed Wick .. a place of great beauty brought on by its starkness.    I was up there just a year ago - intended to stay for just one night but stayed for several days between a RailFuture meeting in Carlisle and a work job a few days later in Sunnyside.  If I need to get away from it all, long walks, fresh air, write a book, Wick for that week is what I would have chosen.   Mind, I wouldn't fancy it in what I suspect is more normal weather.

Grahame. The comment reference backside was to the overall roof which if you have a photo of perhaps you could post to show forum members the contrast between the (unused) part of the platform and the part of the platform in daily passenger footfall and of course the overall roof.

Lokking at the photo of No 11, Towyn Wharf Station and the positions of the buffers and the points, I'm guessing that only very very very very small trains stop there!
