Survey from Minehead Rail Link Group

Quote
This survey has been developed to obtain data about West Somerset residents' attitudes to the future of public transport provision in West Somerset.

Buses, trains, etc ... looking for residents rather than visitors, so I have put this in "New and improved services" and not in the heritage area.

I encourage all members and readers in Greater West Somerset to complete the survey - and I know we have some heavy representation around there.

Completed, despite my views not entirely aligning with any of the given answers to some questions.

BTW (by the way), I an not aware of any heavy representatives from this area.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards, luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

Shame it centres on eastwards only,Devon is eastwards Lynton/Lynmouth Combe Martin Ilfracombe Barnstaple etc

It just goes to show the councils are only interested in their own county residents.

It reads to me as a survey for Minehead residents and businesses, or perhaps only slightly wider.    Yes, a wider survey is needed - but I suspect the group only has thin coverage beyond the area and results would be hard to validate as being representative.     A lot to be done, but a good canvassing / asking step IMHO (in my humble opinion).
