I was at an Olympic presentation last night and am just a bit worried that the plans are one ended - all about handling people at the venues without looking at the other end of their journeys ...

I agree.

the gov should have got their act together and built cross rail before 2012!

Result- FGW (First Great Western) services would not need to change, people would simply change onto a Stratford train at Reading or Paddington.

But no- they will be shoved onto the Underground - help!

Or, of course, they'll drive to Ebbsfleet Parkway, and jam up the M25 - MORE than usual!

As for keeping as many carriages as possible - what about the mk 2s at Honeybourne? And do they really think the pacers will actually be able to move come 2012?

We have a vested interest at Taplow as we are closest station to Dorney Rowing lake.

People are just waking up to the fact the ODA are saying we will get 30.000 people a day. How are they going to be  handled on a single track road?

I'm off on holiday over the period and so I can rent my house out at an exorbitant rent as you can walk to the lake in under an hour from my place.

How's Weymouth going to cope as well?

I suspect Weymouth will cope fine rail-wise. We'll probably have a few diesel additionals put in place between Waterloo / other origins and have the services bolstered by a few 450s from Pompey...  Wink Cheesy
