Sounds pretty major with nothing running through Bournemouth.

From SWR» (South Western Railway - about) Journey Check:

Quote
Due to a signalling problem between Brockenhurst and Weymouth all lines are blocked.

What's Going On:
Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 14:00 16/10.

What We're Doing About It:
We have been informed of a signalling failure in the Bournemouth area which is affecting all signals in the area. This means that all lines from Brockenhurst to Weymouth are blocked.

Until further notice the following alterations will be necessary:
Trains will be terminating and starting from Southampton Central
A train shuttle service will be operating between Southampton Central and Brockenhurst

To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost to yourself, on the following services:
- Great Western Railway between Weymouth, Upwey, Dorchester West and Salisbury. Please change at Salisbury for onward South Western Railway services towards Basingstoke, Woking, Clapham Junction and London Waterloo. You can change at Basingstoke for stations towards Brockenhurst.
- Cross Country trains between Bournemouth and Reading
- Southern Railway between Southampton Central and Havant. You can change at Havant for trains towards Guildford, Woking, Clapham Junction and London Waterloo.

We have replacement buses to call at all stations (in both directions) between Brockenhurst and Weymouth. These buses will not be following any timetables.

For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.

Disorganised chaos at Poole Station.

I drove down to Poole for a morning stroll around the harbour with Finn. I had hoped to phot a train or two across the High St too. Took a walk over to the station, where, some two hours after the disruption began, there were still no road replacement alternatives sourced.

The disruption was cause by a complete loss of power at Bournemouth ASC. Power was restored around 1045. Signal Techs are currently busy resetting axle counters but are experiencing problems with that equipment.

Latest, expect disruption for the rest of the day even though services are running again:

What's Going On

Following an earlier signalling problem between Weymouth and Brockenhurst some lines have reopened.
Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day 16/10.

What We're Doing About It

We were informed of a signalling failure in the Bournemouth area which affected all signals in the area. This meant that all lines from Brockenhurst to Weymouth were blocked. The signalling problem has now been fixed but there is currently a tree on the line at Branksome meaning that the line between Weymouth and Bournemouth remains blocked.

Due to the length of time that the line was blocked there will continue to be delays due to the displacement of train stock. We are working to get the train service back to schedule, this means that we may be required to terminate and start trains away from their booked station.

Trains may be required to start at and terminate at Bournemouth. We have replacement buses between Bournemouth and Weymouth calling at all stations (in both directions). These buses will not be following any timetables.

The only 'train' I saw during my morning in Poole:
