London Underground introduces First Class carriages

From the Suffolk Gazette ... to be moved to "the lighter side" when confirmed as a joke.

The news was revealed exclusively to the Suffolk Gazette after an alert reader spotted a sign at Holborn this evening.

While anyone with money will enjoy the new posh commuting experience, to be introduced first on the Central Line, not everyone is happy, describing it as elitist and Victorian in nature.

City worker Lorraine Fisher, 34, was furious: “Traveling on the Tube when it’s busy is difficult enough, but knowing these snobs in the next carriage are lounging around quaffing champagne is too much.

I think some Coffee Shoppists are going to start campaigning for LU stock to be used on GWR^▸ services. The buffet looks very stylish. Cheesy

I for one would like there to be a fast service, say Basingstoke to say Cambridge, with NO stops, my geograpical knowledge of the other side of London is a bit sketchy, for the very reason, that I avoid London at all costs.

FAKE - There's a website somewhere where you enter your choice of text and it will print it onto a pretend LUL^▸ whiteboard.

Edit - Forgot to mention I am referring to the photo in the Suffolk Gazette link

Edit No 2 - Having taken a closer look, the whole website is a spoof news site and I fear I have been fooled by Grahame. Cry

Outrageous, LUL^▸ now to get better trains than so called inter-city services to Cornwall.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards,luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU^▸ is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.
