Will be some lengthy delays.  Two IETs (Intercity Express Train) (one in each direction) have struck the cows.   One train has a broken windscreen, the other is blocking Wootton Bassett Junction.

17:36 Swindon to Westbury due 18:17 will be started from Chippenham.
It will no longer call at Swindon.
It will be delayed at Chippenham and is expected to be 9 minutes late.
This is due to animals on the railway.

I hope the late start is to let the bus from Swindon arrive, but I fear it's to let the train from Bath arrive.

Through train, Bath to Melksham ... now there's a novel idea  Grin

As the Melksham route is clearly not in use and trains diverting via Bathampton and BOA, was a bus service laid on automatically without request. And more generally, when more passengers start using the train, would a bustitution service be able to accomodate everyone with the required social distancing?

Same train, different day

Quote
16:25 Westbury to Swindon due 17:08

16:25 Westbury to Swindon due 17:08 is being delayed at Westbury.
This is due to a broken down train.

Was held at Westbury for 10 minutes to let the 14:15 diverted service from Plymouth to go in front to avoid a broken down freight train at Bedwyn.  It called at Westbury and will call at Swindon so anyone making an end to end journey could have caught it and not been inconvenienced.
