I am delighted to announce the promotion of Red Squirrel onto the forum admin team.  "RS" has been doing a sterling job as a moderator, and also been technically briefed and able to undertake some of the background engineering on the server for some time. Indeed he was my main backup line on the forum when Lisa and I were away and out of "ssh" contact last September.

The additional rights of an admin are a natural (perhaps overdue) progression. It means that he will join Bobm, Chris from Nailsea and myself in roles such as approving new members, switching members into "Transport Scholars", deleting threads (not that I can remember last time we did that!) etc.

Welcome to the Admin team, Red Squirrel

In the interests of fairness and impartiality, should a GREY squirrel be appointed also Smiley

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards, luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.
