Surprising how little focus is given to public transport in the Somerset CLIMATE EMERGENCY questionaire.

Especially so as even Somerset in their briefing admits:
"The majority of emissions in Somerset derive from the transport sector – 46.7%, compared to 29.5% from industry and 23.8% from the domestic sector."

Bus usage has fallen dramtically in Somerset over the past 10 years as bus services have been starved of funding.

When completing the Somerset CLIMATE EMERGENCY survey https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Somerset-Climate-Change-Survey-2019 we need to stress how far greater use of public transport and the requisite financial support from SCC(resolve) for public transport (especially buses) would make a huge contribution in reducing Somerset's carbon footprint.

Survey needs completing before Feb 25th.

Somerset Climate Change Survey 2020
Thank you very much for taking part in this important survey. Your feedback will help us prioritise how we tackle climate change in Somerset.

It should take less than 10 minutes to complete and by way of a thank you, we are offering participants a chance to win one of two £75 cash prizes.

In 2019, all five Somerset councils declared or recognised ‘climate emergencies’. They are now working together to produce a joint Climate Emergency Strategy. The strategy will identify ways for Somerset to work towards being carbon neutral by 2030 and adapt to predicted climate change impacts. For more information please visit this link

This survey is being run on behalf of Somerset Councils in collaboration with Somerset Climate Action Network by independent market research company, Hope-Stone Research. Your answers are confidential, and your personal details will not be shared with the councils, their employees or any other third parties.
