Sea state visualisation...

Left Dieppe 30 late arrived Newhaven 55 late.  Not the smoothest of crossings.   Big school party so LONG queue at passport control, stretching out into the cold.

15:23 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 17:47
15:23 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 17:47 will be terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill.
It will no longer call at Worcester Foregate Street.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Yesterday, Tuesday April 16, had been a good day for the Cotswold line. The attached screenshot is RTT» (Real Time Trains - website)'s list of times at Evesham. There's only three red departure times, the worst of them being eight minutes late.

But today has not got off to a good start:
Quote
06:43 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington due 08:43 has been delayed between Worcester Shrub Hill and Worcestershire Parkway Hl and is now 63 minutes late.
This is due to a points failure.
Last Updated:17/04/2024 08:20
RTT suggests that the delay was actually incurred in getting the train out of the sidings.
The halts train, the 07:00 from Shrub Hill to Didcot, was able to depart on time.
The 06:43 is now behind the 07:13 Great Malvern - Paddington (also able to depart on time).
The points failure also affected the 07:25 Shrub Hill - Paddington via Stroud, which left Shrub Hill 52 late and will not be calling at Gloucester today.

Tomorrow, I'm travelling from London towards Munich, starting on the Eurostar. I had been intending to catch this 06:43 out of Shrub Hill - but last week I decided it was just too chancy and that we should stay tonight in London. Looks like that was a sound decision.

1P18 0713 Great Malvern to Paddington was started from Evesham today.  "Due to a problem with the track", according to RTT» (Real Time Trains - website)

The ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) from Stoke Gifford went directly to Evesham, via Challow, Didcot North Jcn and Kingham.
