Quote
As a result of the continuing impact of COVID-19 we will be running amended ‘Key Worker’ timetables from Tuesday 24 March.

Everyone at Northern is working to provide the best possible rail service during this difficult time, but it is simply not possible to operate our usual timetable.

Where we are not able to run train we will seek to provide rail replacement road transport.

Though we continue to run services, The Government is advising that, if possible, you should avoid non-essential public transport use and try to avoid rush hour, varying your usual travel times to prevent crowding and if possible, work from home.

If you are showing any Coronavirus symptoms, however mild, you should self-isolate along with other members of your household. The latest Public Health England advice is available here.

We will continue to do all we can and hope you will also continue to play your part when travelling on Northern services.

From my reading ...

Trains replaced by buses:
Lancaster to Morcambe
Preston to Ormskirk
Leeds to Goole via Snaith (*)
Whitehaven to Workington (*)

No trains:
Gainsborough Central, Brigg and Kirton Lindsey

(*) - Permanent way / climate issue not Coronavirus

Seems to be putting the emphasis on bus replacement.

Yet bus drivers are paid only a fraction of their rail driving colleagues!

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
