Where are ...

home.delivery.driver
rail.weary.stability
enjoy.sunshine.garden
reduce.carbon.footprint
save.worlds.health
uses.public.transport
hardens.airliners.removed
promote.better.trains
spin.expand.belly
protect.worlds.trade
roughest.meanwhile.expand
exercise.apart.others

... and would they be good checkpoints for the next "Race Across the World"?

Have you any places with (more) appropriate messages in their three words?

steer.twice.future

How apt - you certainly need to steer twice there if you're driving on the road!

One could waste hours ... looking at these.

Huh

It's all about the "what three words" website - https://what3words.com/roughest.meanwhile.expand for one of the examples I have given, and pointing you to places that might be appropriate, inappropriate, thought provoking or funny bearing in mind where the place is and what the words turn out to be.

If you fancy a beer before (or after) your journey, you need to go to Mazabuka in Zambia.
Zoom out and pan left to find the station.
