Cops called to report of 'dead body' on railway line discover 'victim' is nude sunbather

The 'naked body' that red-faced transport police discovered lying near an Essex branch line turned out to be very much alive

Baffled police responding to reports of a dead body on a railway line near Grays in Essex made a shocking discovery: the “corpse” was a perfectly healthy man who had decided that the fine weather made it a perfect day for a little nude sunbathing.

They explained the unlikely story in a tweet: “Yesterday we had a call about a body within the railway boundary.

Sunbathing on railway property, whether dressed or undressed, would be considered trespassing and is not recommended.

However, the Sexual Offences Act of 2003 specifically excludes naturism. So long as you are not exposing yourself with the intention of upsetting people, it's fine.

Having walked across the Barmouth Bridge to Morfa Mawddach on a sunny July day, and just missed the 15:46 to Tygwyn because I dawdled a bit too long on the bridge, I believe I could unroll my towel on the platform, take of my shirt, and lay down to take a bit of sun as I waited on railway property for the next train at 17:49
