Delays to services between Liskeard and Par
Due to failure of the electricity supply between Liskeard and Par all lines are blocked.
Train services running through these stations will be delayed. Disruption is expected until 09:00 16/09.
AND
Cancellations to services between Liskeard and Looe
Due to a fault with the signalling system between Liskeard and Looe all lines are blocked.
Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled. Disruption is expected until 14:00 16/09.

Slightly puzzled about the Looe branch as surely the unit is the only one on that line all day, so it could be given verbal permission to run.

1C09  0622 XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) Plymouth to Penzance seems to have been stuck at Menheniot for a good hour now

There is the occasional freight train to and from Moorswater which might be a complication.

The fact that the problem was between Liskeard and Looe suggests that Liskeard itself would be affected thus preventing the unit getting on to the Branch itself.

The empty unit from Plymouth for the Looe bch that  sat at LSK main line Stn  for some considerable time, was eventually used to work an 0814 Lsk to Plymouth special stopping passenger service.

Where's S&T (Signalling and Telegraph) when you need him?  Grin

Big problems this morning with a signalling problem at Liskeard (?).
Long delays (up to 60+ minutes) on all early morning services into and out of Cornwall.
Knock on delays still evident after the clearance was given around 09h00'ish.
Rail replacement between Penzance and Truro all week as well.

This ground position signal failed locking the points.  (Picture from July 2018)

This ground position signal failed locking the points.

In true S&T style, I'll just politely point out that it is a semaphore shunting signal, and not a ground position signal.   Wink

I guess someone overtightened the wire during the summer. So on a cold morning the signal will not go back properley and holds the points over because the detection slide has not fully returned.
