From Great Western: (so official, not guesswork Grin )

A quick note to let you know that we will not be making any changes to our current timetable during the national lockdown that starts tomorrow (Thursday 5 November).

This will mean that all our school and college services and all the services that take people to and from work will be operational.

To help customers to travel safely, we have updated our Travel with Confidence page on our website -  https://www.gwr.com/safety  and have included a link on the page to both UK (United Kingdom) and Welsh Government travel advice and guidance.

I am also very happy to help with any specific queries, please email here and we will reply as quickly as we can.

Thank you again for all the support and good wishes, we are very proud of the work our teams are doing to keep services going and we are here to help if we can.

And thank YOU, GWR (Great Western Railway) team! ... happy to pass through any queries

They're going to be carting a lot of fresh air around, but I guess it's only 4 weeks so chopping and changing may not be practical.

You'd like to think that there will be a lot of 5 vice 9/10 which will allow a lot of maintainence to take place in order to have everything reliable and available in time for Christmas, when demand will no doubt be higher - if Xmas isn't cancelled of course.

Though I did give you an educated guess a couple of weeks ago.  Wink

The savings are minimal, so much so that I have heard people say that should there be another national lockdown it is not worth the hassle of temporarily reducing the service again.

Indeed - and thank you.  And that has been very helpful in being ready for the confirmation from on high.  Grin
