19th May 2021 (AGM (Annual General Meeting))
14th July 2021

4th December 2020 - TravelWatch SouthWest AGM
9th December 2020 - Community Rail Network Annual Awards

12th December 2021 - First day of 2022 timetable

To be added to the diary as and when planned:

Meeting follow up:

Quote
Dear Melksham Rail User Group member / colleague

Please find attached copies of the pre-meeting notes, and the minutes (thank you, Roger) from this meeting.

Sophie Martin, Community Rail Officer at TransWilts, is looking to update her mailing list of volunteers to help at the Melksham Hub, which they plan to "soft open" in March with a formal event on 3rd April. Please contact Sophie directly via sophie@transwilts.org, on 07379 175055, or the TransWilts Facebook page.

In current extraordinary times, MRUG» (Melksham Rail User Group - site) is saying "stay at home if you can" - a totally alien message for us, which we hope and expect to be very much a short term one.  Trains and buses continue to run for key workers and essential journeys and as usual can be tracked at http://melksh.am/trains. A current timetable is at http://melksh.am/tt though this is subject to alteration for the depths of lockdown.

There is plenty else we can do at present - see the meeting notes for a list of 20 ideas and there is plenty else we really MUST do to help us support and inform our members, the community, and the wider industry through this difficult time. We must also prepare for the future - the restart phase as people start moving around again, the new normal that we'll settle into (whatever that might be) and the longer term where zero carbon, climate change, clean air, reduced waste, etc.   Much of this is being done through formal and informal discussions and consultations, covered in the notes and minutes, and you'll find other updates via headline links at http://www.mrug.org.uk and our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MelkshamRUG . Please interact there and get in touch with the Chair or vice at any time.

Our next meeting is scheduled for 17th March 2021 and will, for certain, be held on Zoom. For the members who cannot interact with that, we will provide other access (e.g. a zoom group in a garden somewhere) if safety and the rules allow it, like we did last year.  Zoom codes will be sent out in due course.

Finally, big "Thank You" to Roger for standing in and taking meeting notes for John, who's wife is in hospital; the meeting sent them both our thoughts and very, very best wishes for the time ahead.

Graham
