From Devon Live

Quote
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with an alleged theft upon a train between Paignton and Newton Abbot.

Officers from British Transport Police were called to Paignton station at just before 12:30 pm this afternoon (December 18), following reports of passengers causing a disturbance on a train between Newton Abbot and Paignton. The incident concerned the reported theft of passenger property on board a train.

The incident led to delays on the line between the two stations while the incident took place and British Transport Police arrived at the scene.

Great Western Railway?s journey check service reported the following when the line had been reopened: "Following passengers causing a disturbance on a train between Newton Abbot and Paignton the line has now reopened."

Wonderful the stories that can be hidden behind the output from official sources  Grin Cheesy Grin - but then there's been a lot of years to practise after 1984.

Story is a contender for the "wrong image" thread too - though more out of date than wrong place

Could well be ... though I wondered if I could see double track to the left of the 153 - main line somewhere ? ? ?  Of course, it's a while since we had 153s ...

We can, though, have a degree of sympathy for the purveyors of fresh news, looking for a relevant stock picture with which to attract our attention and having neither the libraries nor the knowledge that out members have and compounded by a need to get the news out fast!
